This is a companion lab for First Look Clinic 6410B - First Look: Getting
Started with Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V.
This two-hour hands-on lab provides students with experience in using
Microsoft Hyper-V to create and manage virtual machines and to query virtual
information using the WMI provider.
Audience Profile
This lab is intended for IT professionals who would like to become familiar
with managing virtual machines using Microsoft Hyper-V. You will begin by
exploring the Microsoft Windows Virtualization Management tool and
administering virtual machines. You will then work with a running virtual
machine. Finally, you will use Windows PowerShell to query virtual machine
information using the WMI provider.
COMPLETION
After completing this course, students will be able to:
- Create and manage virtual machines.
- Query virtual machine information using Microsoft Windows PowerShell.
Prerequisites:
- IT Professionals skilled on the technologies included in Windows
Server 2000 and Windows Server 2003.
- Experience with Virtual Server 2005 or Virtual PC 2004/2007
